BIRMINGHAM LEAGUE DIVISION THREE
OLTON and West Warwicks overwhelmed bottom side Oswestry by 83 runs but it still wasn’t enough to gain promotion.
Brockhampton’s slender two-wicket win against Bablake OBs ensured the Herefordshire finished runners-up to champions Wombourne, leaving Olton adrift in third place.
Olton did their best to secure maximum points, Mike Ceillam making 51 in their total of 185 for four declared.
Babar Khan then claimed five for 32 as Oswestry succumbed to 102 all out in reply.
At the opposite end, Studley beat Bridgnorth by six wickets but then discovered they had been relegated as a result of Kington’s five-wicket success at Whitchurch.
Omaad Nazir completed bowling figures of five for 28 as Bridgnorth were bowled out for just 75. Studley then knocked off a winning 76 for four in 19 overs.
Fordhouses found themselves heading for the Staffs Clubs League next term, even though they pulled off a five-wicket win over Lichfield.
Kash Hussain claimed match-winning figures of five for 17 as Lichfield were levered out for 87, although Fordhouses required almost 30 overs to reach their target.
