Brockhampton and Wombourne win again

BROCKHAMPTON and Wombourne are still neck and neck at the top of Division Two after convincing victories.

Leaders Brockhampton scored 197 for eight against St George’s, with Ashley Nahorniak hitting 54, but they then skittled out the Saints for just 41 with Chris Boroughs taking the first seven wickets for just 21 runs and the innings was rounded off by a Richard Parker hat-trick.

Wombourne amassed 306 for eight against Old Elizabethans, with Karl Quiney (65) and Alex Hughes (54) hitting half-centuries.

Old Elizabethans were then bowled out for just 132 with Dale Quiney taking 7-17. Only Phil Slade (62) provided any resistance.

Chris Viljoen hit 58 in Aston Manor’s total of 203 against Water Orton, who were dismissed for 191 in response.

Imran Khan took 4-34 for Water Orton but Shozaib Haider (5-62) and Viljoen (4-40) combined to win the game for Manor, despite good innings from Paul Bedford (56) and Francois Louw (42).

Steve Booth’s 99 helped Sutton Coldfield to hang on for a draw on 218-8 after Ombersley had piled up 268-5, thanks to Marcus D’Oliveira (76), Matt Rawnsley (45 not out) and Brett D’Oliveira (41).

Evesham moved away from danger with a four wicket win at Tamworth.

Matt Snyman took 6-18 and Paul Thomas took 4-42, as the home side were bowled out for 101, a total that Evesham passed in comfort.

Mike Talbot’s 51 saw Cannock to 177 all out at Penn, with Hiren Patel taking 4-42 for the home side, who squeezed to a one wicket victory after Richard Bradford finished unbeaten

on 74.
