KNOWLE & Dorridge skipper Jamie Spires could be handing out detention to his players after Shrewsbury student Tom Allin sent the league leaders tumbling at London Road.
Allin returned from university to bag top marks for the league strugglers, taking four for 28 to send the visitors back to the pavilion for a disappointing 148.
In-form Nick James (53) was the only batsman to offer any sort of opposition as K&D chased Shrewsbury’s total of 183 for eight, Rob Foster’s 70 leading the way.
Wolverhampton’s Chris Russell was another bowler to hit form as his six for 33 sent Moseley crashing to a 122-run defeat.
The visitors found the Streetsbrook Road conditions to their liking as they galloped to 241 for four before declaring with an over to spare.
Mike Smith (66), Sairaj Bahatule (64) and David Wheeldon (56) all found runs easy to come by but Keith Bell (41) was the lone Moseley batsman to relish the conditions as his side were dismissed for 119.
Himley’s good run had lifted them up to second but they came unstuck at Barnt Green, the hosts winning by 42 runs.
Bromsgrove’s recent recovery also ended as they lost by 163 runs at Walmley, Hamza Nadeem’s five for 18 helping to skittle the visitors out for just 55.
Walsall suffered a losing draw at home to Kenilworth Wardens, the Gorway side making a disappointing 134 all out against the bowling of Shitansu Kotak, who took seven for 35.
With their reply reduced by two overs due to rain, a boundary off the final ball earned the Wardens a winning draw as they finished on 130 for eight.
Elsewhere, Kidderminster Victoria beat Leamington Spa by seven wickets.
