Warwickshire League: Handsworth have one hand on Premier Division title
Sep 1 2010 by Ken Montgomery, Birmingham Mail
HANDSWORTH are one positive result away from wrapping up the Premier Division championship after a winning draw against Streetly and a victory over Aston Unity.
Centuries from Dawkins and Hooper helped the league leaders to a 247-run win over basement club Unity, who are still to win a match all season, and they now head the table by 34 points.
And a 15-point return against struggling Moseley Ashfield this weekend will be enough to clinch the title. Second-placed Highway’s hopes of heaping pressure on Handsworth were dented when they suffered an 86-run defeat to third-placed Solihull Blossomfield.
G Edmunds lit up Kenilworth’s nine-wicket win over Moseley Ashfield with brilliant bowling figures of 5 for 5.
Bedworth are still in charge in Division One after a 93-run win against Offchurch Lapworth. Dangerambezi 83 led the way with a knock of 83.
