KEITH Barker starred with the ball as Warwickshire dismissed Nottinghamshire for 272 on the opening day of their Second XI Championship match at Trent College.

Released from first-team duty having been left out of the 12 against Sussex, Barker took four for 55 to keep a check on a strong home top order in which Will Jefferson scored 66.

Jimmy Anyon chipped in with three for 63 as Nottinghamshire were bowled out in 88.4 overs.

Warwickshire reached 37 without loss in 14 overs before the close.
