Jaidi: One bullet left for Birmingham City

“Everybody has, between himself, to take the positive things and put our heads up.
“We have to go forward. As I said, it’s not finished yet. It’s dependent on us, and those are the positive things.
“We still have a big team, we still have the same players and we have to show that Preston was like a mistake.”
Jaidi said Blues knew it shouldn’t have come to this last-day showdown.
“We should be in Wolves’ place because since the beginning of the season we have lost a lot of points we should have avoided losing.
“We should have been up, since maybe two games ago.
“Wolves, they had the opportunities. They have taken them. That is why everything is good for them.
“We have put ourselves in this position so we have to deal with it. Our big, experienced players have to show on the pitch.
“We have to take this opportunity, we didn’t on Saturday and that was a disappointment.
“We have shown before that we normally react after a disappointment so this game is open for a reaction.
“It’s not simple, but this is the reality we’re in.”
The Tunisian stalwart said if Blues failed at the Madejski Stadium and then in the play-offs it would be the worst time of his career.
“This is the biggest ever. World Cups, African Nations Cups and everything. But I don’t want to think about it. I will keep my head up. I am positive, that’s my character.
“It means so much to me, at this level, at this age. It’s a big present the Premier League and I want to give it to the fans and I promise I will do my best.”
Jaidi said the reaction Blues got on their lap of honour after stumbling against Preston was heartwarming.
“Yes, of course it was embarrassing to go round the pitch. Everything was embarrassing. Me, I think it was a shame to go out there after the result. We had a big, big chance in that game.
“But it has given me a little bit of confidence after seeing some of the fans and their applause, the way they gave us support. That can help us.
“We are all in the same situation. It’s our club. Birmingham City, everybody concerned with the club I feel sorry for after Saturday.
“I will try to do my best and next game give more than 100 per cent and get us up back to the Premier League.
“That’s our first deal and we will fight to the last second.”
