Birmingham City: Alex McLeish insists recent good run means nothing

Despite the loss of the injured Garry O’Connor and Marcus Bent’s loan to Middlesbrough, McLeish said he wasn’t too bad off for strikers.
“McFadden can play through the middle as well,” he pointed out.
“If you would ask him, deep down he’s say he would prefer to play centre-forward but the two centre-forwards are doing well for us and he is coming into the real game we know he is capable of providing.”
Blues go into the game on the back of their best sequence of results, and displays.
McLeish said: “If you were to sit down and watch every single game since the start of the season with me – which would give you square eyes – you would see this team has played very well since day one in the Premier League.
“The evidence is there for that to continue. There have been one or two iffy performances but if I’m totally honest, only one, and other than that the team have been terrific.
“Our consistency has been excellent but we would like some more points on the board and at the end of the day, that is what it is all about.
‘‘We’ve got to get more points on the board.”
