John Carew insists that Aston Villa won't be running on empty

There is no player who epitomises Villa’s tireless attitude this season than James Milner.

The all-action Yorkshireman, who hit double figures in the goal charts with his long-range strike at Wigan on Tuesday, continues to attract the plaudits from both inside and outside the Villa camp.

And Carew has become the latest person to wax-lyrical about Milner’s superhuman energy reserves.

The Norwegian continued: “He is running everywhere, he is all over the place, he has been amazing for the team this year.

‘‘Tuesday night was another great performance from him.

“He will be very important for Aston Villa and very important for England in the years to come. It’s great to have him in the team.

“He has great football intelligence as well as all the skills and ability.

“Normally players’ legs wouldn’t be like his after the 90 minutes. It was typical him. His work-rate must be one of the best in the league.

“He is very strong mentally, has great ability, capacity and work-rate. He will be great for England (at the World Cup).”
