Aston Villa: Excitement just keeps on coming for Marc Albrighton

Marc Albrighton

MARC Albrighton is lapping up the busiest schedule of his fledgling football career – because he hopes it will help him keep his early-season success story rolling.

Villa’s flying winger is likely to be in action again tonight and Tuesday evening when England’s under-21s face Romania in their European Championship play-off.

And, despite starting all seven of Villa’s Premier League matches and sitting out just two cup ties this term, Albrighton is in no mood to rest on his laurels.

It is the most senior games the 20-year-old has played in his life but Albrighton is looking forward rather than dwelling on his exciting first-team impact.

“I don’t get chance to reflect at all,” he said.

“It’s a hectic schedule when you go away, training every day and preparing for the next game.

“So there’s no sitting back and looking back at memories, you just get on with it and get ready for the next challenge.

“I prefer it like that because if you get time to look back I think you’d get a bit carried away, especially with how the season’s gone for me so far.

“You might get a bit complacent but I think if you’re playing and training all the time I don’t think you’ve got time to get complacent.”
