West Brom: Olsson hits out at critics who dismiss club's acievements

Jonas Olsson

JONAS Olsson has admitted he is getting ‘sick’ of Albion’s achievements being discredited by critics who are obsessed with the Premier League’s big guns.

The Baggies have taken five points this season from Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs – all of whom finished in the top four last season.

But the context of Albion’s victory at the Emirates and Saturday’s draw at Old Trafford was more about the opposition’s deficiences, with few willing to give Roberto Di Matteo’s men the deserved credit.

When Albion beat Manchester City a lot was made of Roberto Mancini making changes to his side – overlooking the fact that Di Matteo made ten changes to his starting line-up.

And Olsson believes it is time the sixth-placed Baggies were given more praise for their exploits this season.

“It’s one thing to do it in the Championship but another thing to do it in the Premier League against the best players in the world,” said the Swedish centre-half.

“That shows morale and team spirit and shows we are very confident at the moment.

“We now have 12 points after eight games and we deserve every point we’ve got so far.
