Gary McAllister backs Robert Pires to solve Aston Villa's injury crisis

ROBERT Pires could be the man to help solve Villa’s crippling injury crisis when he joins the club later this week, says assistant boss Gary McAllister.
The 1998 World Cup winner and former Arsenal ace is a free agent following his release by Spanish side Villarreal in the summer.
McAllister reckons Pires would be the ‘perfect’ signing for Villa because he could slot in almost straight away after spending the past few weeks training with Arsenal.
He also feels the 37-year-old’s experience would be invaluable to Gerard Houllier’s injury-ravaged side, who are unbeaten in their last three games.
“Robert has been training at Arsenal and I believe he’s going to join us in the next two or three days,” said McAllister.
“It would be perfect. I am sure he will arrive at the training ground in good condition.
“He has unbelievable experience in the middle of the park, where we are a wee bit light.
“He’s a player everyone can look to because of what he has achieved.
