Aston Villa's Marc Albrighton is still shocked to be playing for England Under 21's
MARC Albrighton has revealed his amazement that he’s playing for England Under-21s.
The 20-year-old travelled to Germany with the rest of the squad this week but Stuart Pearce rested the wing wizard in Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat.
Albrighton’s fellow teammate, Nathan Delfouneso, played 87 minutes of the game and the pair are both aiming to make the squad for the European Championships in Denmark next summer.
But despite looking ahead to the event, the Bodymoor Heath academy graduate is still struggling to come to terms with how far he has come in such a short space of time.
“It’s been a real rollercoaster ride for me,” he said.
“The England Under-21 set-up seemed so far away for me this time last year.
