ROBERT Pires was all smiles as he revealed his ambition to complete the missing piece of his glitzy trophy cabinet with a Carling Cup winner’s medal.

The former Arsenal ace has won both the Premier League and FA Cup with his old club and was crowned a World Cup and European Cup champion with France.
Pires, now 37, said he was excited about returning to the English top flight after signing a six-month deal at Villa Park.
He brings experience and passion to the club and is also hoping to pick up another trophy before the end of the season.
“The last trophy I won was with Arsenal so now to win one with Aston Villa is my objective,” he said.
“Aston Villa have a mentality for winning a trophy, like the Carling Cup. I think that’s important.
“Whether it’s the Carling Cup or Cup I take it.
“Aston Villa is very good, they have a good team for winning everything.
“It’s an important for me because I have a good opportunity and now I am very excited for Sunday.
“I saw the last game against Man United and I saw a very good team and very good young players.”
