Aston Villa's stand-in skipper Richard Dunne says he will lead Villa in his own way

STAND-IN skipper Richard Dunne has admitted he is not one to shout and scream on the pitch and will lead Villa in his own way.

The influential defender is Gerard Houllier’s captain in Stiliyan Petrov’s absence and he is determined to be a successful leader.
Dunne is facing a battle to be fit in time for tomorrow’s trip to Blackburn after picking up a knee injury in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United last week.
If he passes a late fitness test, the Irishman will wear the armband once more and help try to continue Villa’s recent form which has seen them go five games without defeat.
“The way I am is fairly quiet,” he said. “You try and lead by your own performances and do your best on the pitch so hopefully that’s enough of an example for everyone to follow.
“I’m not much of a shouter. I am not going to be going out arguing with people.
“Everyone has their own ideas of what a captain should be. There is probably no right way or wrong way.
“I think that’s how people react better than getting screamed at all the time.”
Dunne says the main message he tries to get across to the players is that they are all fighting together as a team.
He believes that if every player is united as one, the team will benefit and results will improve.
Since Houllier took over in September, Villa have won just two of their eight league games.
