Wolves boss McCarthy tells fans to boo if they don't like what they see

MICK McCarthy says Wolves fans are vital to getting three points against Sunderland and has given them the green light to turn on his team if they don’t deliver a performance.
Wolves badly need a win to turn their season around but McCarthy is in no mood to issue any fan appeals.
“It doesn’t change really in terms of their importance – the fans are vital to the club,’’ he said.
‘‘But in times of trouble and strife it’s support we need more than ever, whether it be a player, the team or whoever. It needs that arm around us saying ‘come on lads, we’ll all get behind you together’.
“If they don’t, it makes life increasingly difficult.”
A slow start to Saturday’s game and McCarthy knows supporters could get nervy.
“If that happens I don’t concern myself with what’s happened before, I can only deal with what’s going on in front of me,” he said.
“Having lost Christophe Berra and Karl Henry, I’ll get a team together and try to win this game against a good Sunderland side who have just beaten Chelsea.
‘‘We’ve got to get together and hopefully out of adversity comes strength and we win. If we do, brilliant; if we don’t, the consequences will be there. The fans might boo, but I’m not interested in that. I’m not looking beyond thinking we’re going to win.
