Aston Villa: "Don't get on our cases" pleads Richard Dunne

RICHARD Dunne has pleaded to the concerned claret and blue brigade “Don’t get on our cases” as Villa strive to right the wrongs of their stuttering season.
The stand-in skipper has urged fans to keep supporting manager Gerard Houllier and the players despite a worrying run of league and cup results. Wednesday’s Carling Cup elimination at Blues followed top-flight defeats to Blackburn and Arsenal, which left Villa just above the bottom three.
But Dunne is convinced Villa are strong enough to bounce back during a challenging month ahead providing the fans and the team stick together.
Villa travel to Liverpool on Monday before hosting Albion the following weekend, while their festive programme includes trips to Chelsea and Manchester City and a home clash against Tottenham.
“I know the fans will be disappointed with Wednesday night but we need them now more than ever,” he said.
“We need them to get behind us and support us rather than be getting on our cases.
“Everything that can go wrong seems to be going wrong. Even in training people are getting injured or turning up sick. We’re just not having any luck at the moment.
“As well as the young lads are doing the sooner we can get everyone back fit and have a full squad in training it will benefit us all. In the meantime, we just have to knuckle down.
