Steven Reid backs West Bromwich Albion duo

STEVEN Reid has backed bit-part players Somen Tchoyi and Graham Dorrans to become major figures for West Brom during the coming weeks.

Both Tchoyi and Dorrans have taken a while to settle into this season for different reasons.

Cameroonian Tchoyi had to play catch-up with his fitness and needed to get used to the demands of the Premier League, having previously played in the Austrian league.

Dorrans, meanwhile, was struggling for form early on during the campaign, against a backdrop of troubling personal issues.

Both players featured in Wednesday’s Carling Cup write-off against Ipswich but were in good form in the Premier League win at Everton.

And while both were far from their best at Portman Road, their encouraging form in recent displays has given Reid optimism that they will give Albion an injection of hope during the coming weeks.

Speaking about Dorrans, Reid said: “He will get back there. It’s a different league and a different challenge but we all know about his quality from what he did last season.

“You don’t suddenly lose that quality overnight and I have no doubt that over the course of this season he is going to play a massive part.
