"We will do what we can in the January window," promises Wolves manager Mick McCarthy

MICK McCarthy insists he has been given “brilliant” backing by Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey and has had the green light to strengthen the side in the January transfer window.

Talks have already been held to map out a transfer strategy with Wolves in desperate need of a centre-back and a striker.

“I know what’s what, of course,” the boss said.

“It has always been the same here with Steve and Jez. If we can do it, if the right players are available, we will try and do something.

“The support has been brilliant from Steve and Jez.

That has always been the same and it will never, never change.

“The support is there.”

Last year Wolves brought in just two loan deals during the winter window in Adlene Guedioura and Geoffrey Mujangi Bia.

“I don’t know if we can but if there is something there we will try and do it,” reiterated McCarthy.
