Reid ready for another scalp as West Brom prepare for Villa

STEVEN Reid hopes West Brom can continue their record-breaking streak – but believes Villa’s current league position is false.
The Baggies have ended several hoodoos this season, winning at Arsenal following a 27-year gap, taking victory at Goodison Park for the first time in 31 years and beating Newcastle in the League for the only time since 1984.
They go into Saturday’s game hoping for their first win against their nearest neighbours since 1985 – with their last win at B6 coming six years before that.
But Reid is wary of Villa, who are currently languishing 16th in the top flight, five points shy of Roberto Di Matteo’s men.
“We seem to be performing better against teams we’re not expected to do well against – at Old Trafford, Everton, Arsenal,” said Reid, who was yesterday one of several Albion players visiting the children’s ward at Sandwell Hospital.
“And at home we’ve done okay too but it’s important we pick up points against our competitors which is why we were disappointed against Wigan and Blackpool.
“Liverpool found themselves down there a few weeks ago and now after a few wins they’re just a few points off the top of the league.
