Wolves ace Matt Jarvis aims to down West Brom

Matt Jarvis

MATT Jarvis has set his sights on downing the Baggies because he says he can’t afford to go through another lengthy drought again.

Never the most prolific of scorers, the 25-year-old ended a near six-month wait with the equaliser at QPR in front of his family on Saturday.

Jarvis netted four league goals last term – including two against neighbours Villa – and scored three in Wolves’ first dart into the Premier League the previous year.

“I hadn’t scored since we faced Fulham in our first home game, so it was great to get one,” Jarvis said.

“It was a massive result for us and much-needed.

“Of course it’s good to score any time but I suppose putting one in at the end all our fans were was a bonus. I had a few members of my family there, plus my wife and her dad, so that was nice as well.

“We knew the man advantage was in our favour. Equalising at the start of the second half gave us momentum we were able to build on. We pushed on really well and created more chances as our confidence grew.”
