DAVE Jones and Steve Bruce are both keen to return to the Premier League with Wolves with Jez Moxey adamant they want a boss with experience.
Jones, the man who first handed Wolves their Premier League dream, is understood to want to conclude ‘unfinished business’ with the club he left in 2004.
A source said Jones would view it as a ‘dream to come’, adding: “He feels he has unfinished business.”
Bruce has been out of work since leaving Sunderland in November. The loss of long-term assistant Eric Black to Blackburn Rovers could allow him to bring in a coach with Wolves know-how, with Paul Ince and Alex Rae both possibilities.
Chief Executive Moxey says the search for a new boss is well underway.
“This is certainly not a job for a novice,” said Moxey. “The idea is to get the right person as quickly as possible. We know who is out there. There’ll be lots of speculation. We will work diligently and expeditiously to make an appointment.
“We have to move fairly quickly but we have to try to make the right appointment. We have got a complete open mind.
“We’ve had discussions, people have been calling us and I think we will be okay.
“Managers come in all shapes and guises – one thing is for sure the new man will have to understand the DNA of Wolverhampton Wanderers. But we are not dismissing any kind of option, short-term or long term.”
