WOLVES owner Steve Morgan says the search for a new boss will not be a lengthy process.

Out of work trio Steve Bruce, Alan Curbishley and Dave Jones would appear to be the early front-runners with the club not ruling out a short-term ‘fire fighter’ to keep them up.

“We have spoken about potential candidates, but we are a long way away.

We haven’t spoken to anyone and wouldn’t speak to anybody with Mick in place and quite rightly so.” he said.

“Now that Mick is no longer with the club, we will be having conversations with a number of people over the coming days.”

Morgan did admit that former Charlton boss Curbishley ticks the right boxes.

“He’s got a great track record – he’s been there and done that before. He’s exactly the calibre of person that we would be looking for, but there are a number of other candidates as well, so I don’t want to be drawn into a conversation about who we would be talking to just yet, but clearly we would be interested in someone of his calibre.”

Bruce is already the bookies’ favourite but Morgan added: “We have to see who is available – who is the right fit for the club.

“It is not a question of grabbing anybody, it is a question of getting the right person for the club. Someone who’s personality suits Wolverhampton Wanderers.
