WOLVES head into Saturday’s crunch game at Newcastle 100 per cent behind caretaker boss Terry Connor, says Karl Henry.

Connor is almost certain to take the team this weekend with the search for a new boss set to drag on into a third week.

Wolves have been given permission to speak to Brighton’s Gus Poyet but appear reticent to pay a £2million release fee, especially on the back of paying off Mick McCarthy.

Brian McDermott has held talks but early indications are that he is in two minds about staying with Reading who have an ambitious new Russian owner Anton Zingarevich.

That leaves front-runner Steve Bruce who has been kicking his heels since his interview, Lee Clark and former boss Dave Jones, who is gathering support behind the scenes. Blackpool’s Ian Holloway is a definite non-runner with no interest in the post.
