Another thriller in store for Argus
Sep 26 2008 By Ken Herbert
NEXT Friday the Sports Argus Charity Darts Squad will be in Bromsgrove to meet the local Bromsgrove Darts League at the Millfield & District Social Club, Millfield Road, Bromsgrove.
Last year’s event proved a close affair with the Sports Argus just edging it 5-4.
This could be another thriller.
Representing the Sports Argus will be: Derek Duggan, Jim Norris, Bob Nixon, Mark Wall, Craig Hall, Tom McGlone, Wayne Matthews, John Sidwell, Roger Kinsella, Dave Bourne, Adrian Arnold, Peter Brotherton, Andy Hutchings, Tony Randell, Martin Tibbetts and Dave Honey.
Officials will be Ken Herbert, Audrey Herbert, Dennis Stokes, Jim Gilfoyle, Keith Duggan and Val Arnold.
Don’t miss out tomorrow at Olton R.B.L. when the Birmingham Open Darts Championship will be staged, with £300 on offer for the winner. Refreshments are available. On the oche around 12 noon.
Next week-end the second round of the Inter Counties matches will be staged. County ‘B’ games will be played on Saturday October 4 , while the ‘A’ teams will do battle on Sunday October 5.
Warwickshire will be looking for their second win in division one with a home fixture at the Canley Club Marler Road Coventry against Dorset.
With plenty of support Warwickshire should win.
Also in division one the West Midlands are hoping for success against Hertfordshire having home advantage at Gilberts Bar, Field Street, Willenhall.
I fancy the West Midlands to win.
Following their previous victory over Clywd, Worcestershire will be hoping for another win on their visit to Northamptonshire.
Let’s hope for two out of two.
See next week’s Sports Argus for details of our opening charity match against Henley in Arden.
