Birchfield Harriers in the medals at English School Championships

BIRCHFIELD Harriers are celebrating a bumper haul of medals from the English Schools Athletics championships in Sheffield.
The tally of 11 medals included four golds, one for 400m runner Ross Macdonald who also earned a call up to the Great Britain relay squad for the European Under-20 Championships in a fortnight.
Other titlists were Nikita Campbell-Smith in the junior girls long jump, Adam Damadzic, the new Intermediate boys discus champion and Laura Samuel, who won the Senior Girls Triple Jump by almost half a metre.
There were also silver medals for 200m runner Sebastian Tully-Middleton, Orie Lawrence in the Senior boys sprint hurdles, Christian Byron in the Intermediate 400m and a bronze for Antoe Walters in the Senior 100m.
Off the track, Myles Murrain-Meade was second in the Junior long jump, Joseph Chesterman claimed silver in the Junior pole vault while Kate Morley was third in the Junior javelin.
Also called up for the Under-20s in Serbia is 400m hurdler Ese Okoro.
