Birmingham Panthers hit rock bottom

BIRMINGHAM Panthers, once more under-manned and lacking interior strength, slumped to the bottom of the BBL after a double weekend reverse.

On Saturday Panthers went down 95-72 at Worcester Wolves having to rely on a six-man rotation.

Last night a valiant effort counted for nothing as they were beaten by Leicester Riders, at home, 85-79.

Panthers built up a 30-19 lead in the second quarter but Kyle Greathouse's scores got Riders back in it.

At 60-60 going into the fourth period, Riders got away and held on when a pair of Daniel Sandell threes made them sweat.

LaTaryl Williams led Panthers with 21 points, 16 rebounds and four steals, rising to the responsibility thrust on him as the team's remaining American.
