Panthers crushed - twice

BIRMINGHAM Panthers suffered crushing back-to-back weekend defeats.

Last night they went down 113-62 in Glasgow to Scottish Rocks.

And that road trip came less than 24 hours after being beaten 117-79 on their own court by Cheshire Jets.

The season cannot end quickly enough for Panthers and their under-strength roster - who have significant salary arrears - are finding it harder to remain motivated when, try as they might, they know what's coming each game night.

Rocks, who were accused of being disrespectful a week ago when they beat Panthers 110-63, again showed no mercy.

Rocks had eight players in double figures, led by 18-point Sterling Davis, while Adam Williams got 26 for Panthers, Lekan Popoola 13 and Marlon Jules eight.

Jules has proved himself a useful recent addition.

On Saturday, he led Panthers with 27 points, eight rebounds and his presence in the air around the rim brought a new dimension to the team.

But lack of composure and sloppiness cost Panthers and in the end they looked thoroughly demoralised.
