Brummies beaten by the weather

THE BRUMMIES' Premier League meeting with Mildenhall was postponed after heavy rain left the Perry Barr track waterlogged.

They now travel to Berwick on Saturday night, where they will track Sheffield's Paul Cooper as a guest for Brent Werner following the American's decision to quit the sport.

Cooper scored a paid 14 at Berwick for Sheffield recently, and Brummies boss Graham Drury said: "Hopefully he can do the same for us."

Drury has been granted a 28-day facility to replace Werner with guests, but he hopes to have a new signing in place in time for Sunday afternoon's Premier League Fours event at Peterborough.
