Premier Trophy dates announced

THE Mercom Brummies have agreed the dates of the two-legged Premier Trophy final with King's Lynn.

The home leg will be at Perry Barr on Sunday July 15 with a 6pm start. The return will take place on Friday July 20 at the Norfolk Arena.

Brummies promoter Graham Drury said: "To reach a national final in our first season is a fantastic achievement.

"We have invited several VIPs and councillors who helped get speedway running again to our home leg. We hope they will see for themselves what a fabulous sport we have."

Next Wednesday's BBC WM Shield meeting with Wolverhampton has been put back until later in the season after Monday's first leg at Monmore Green was postponed.

The Brummies will still ride at Perry Barr next Wednesday - but their opponents will now be Premier League rivals Stoke.

* Emiliano Sanchez did not ride in this year's Argentinean Championship as stated in last night's Mail.

Though he was back in Argentina, Sanchez did not take part in the event, which was won by Birmingham new recruit Hauzinger.
