Wolves 44 Coventry 45

DAVID Howe and Christian Hefenbrock are both doubtful for Woverhampton's Elite League trip to Ipswich on Thursday after crashing out of last night's tense home defeat by Coventry.

Both riders were left with suspected concussion after a bizarre incident in Heat 11 when Coventry's Rory Schlein, the race leader, lost control and both Wolves riders fell.

Wolves required a 5-1 from the last race to snatch victory in a dramatic meeting but although captain Fredrik Lindgren superbly overtook Chris Harris for the win, the British Champion held on ahead of Niels-Kristian Iversen for second place to clinch it for the Bees.

Wolves boss Peter Adams said: "It's obviously a hamer blow to us and we're bitterly disappointed.

"It was a terrific meeting, full of entertainment, but our fans want to see the team winning and we weren't able to do that."
