Wolves told to improve by Chris van Straaten

WOLVES head into tonight’s Elite League derby clash at Coventry with strong words ringing in their ears.

Both sides lost home meetings on Monday – Coventry to Lakeside and Wolves to Eastbourne – and Monmore chief Chris Van Straaten was left in an angry mood.

He said: “We have to sort our mechanical gremlins out going into the meeting at Coventry, we didn’t help ourselves on Monday and let ourselves down.

“I will never wash my dirty linen in public, but the riders have been told in no uncertain terms that I expect to see an improvement at Brandon.”

Christian Hefenbrock will again be missing from the Wolves team through injury.

Coventry will give late fitness tests to Chris Harris (back bruising) and Olly Allen (shoulder), while Billy Janniro is back in America contesting the national championships. Ben Barker continues at reserve in place of the injured Stanislaw Burza.

COVENTRY: Chris Harris, Olly Allen, Simon Stead, Billy Janniro R/R, Rory Schlein, Andreas Messing, Ben Barker.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Freddie Lindgren, Ales Dryml, Niels Kristian Iversen, Christian Hefenbrock R/R, David Howe, Nicolai Klindt, Kenneth Hansen.
