Kenneth Hansen gives his side of the story

KENNETH Hansen has broken his silence over the collapse of his move from Wolverhampton to Birmingham.
Hansen is back in Denmark after a clash of dates between his home club Slangerup and Birmingham, which prompted boss Graham Drury to pull the plug on the move.
Said Hansen: “Graham was aware from the start that there were potential problems with dates and he spoke to my brother in Denmark about this.
“All I needed to do was miss that one meeting and I would have been available for the rest of the season. I never signed the contract because when I got it I was being asked to sign something I couldn’t fulfil.
“We agreed financial terms and I was happy to join a club like Birmingham but Graham jumped the gun when he announced my signing for them.
“I told him I wouldn’t be able to sign a contract which required me to be at Birmingham last Wednesday. After I finished at Wolves I made plans to go back to Denmark.
“And the Slangerup meeting last Wednesday was always a meeting I had to ride in. This was indicated to Graham at our meeting but I thought it had all been sorted between him and my brother (who is also Hansen’s main sponsor).
“When I got back to Denmark it was obvious there was still a problem and it started getting a bit nasty and heated. I didn’t like that, and wasn’t pleasant.
“That meeting for Slangerup was of massive importance and it was always in my diary before I got sacked by Wolves and talked to Birmingham.
“If my brother told me I had to be in Denmark riding for them then that’s where I had to be. If I was told I wasn’t needed then I would have been riding for Birmingham.
“It’s a very unfortunate situation which I’m not too happy about.
“As I say, the clash of date was made clear to Graham but I was available for the rest of Birmingham’s meetings.
“It’s a shame the deal was called off because of that and I am now talking to another Premier League club.”
