Graham Drury seals deal at Birmingham Brummies

GRAHAM Drury is staying with Birmingham for the 2010 season after reaching agreement with new club owner Gary Patchett.

Drury, who has been in charge of the Brummies since they were relaunched in 2007, held talks with Patchett over the weekend and a deal was quickly agreed.

He will continue to have the assistance of his wife, Denise, who does a lot of the paperwork and deals with club staff.

It’s a move which has delighted most Birmingham supporters who admire the way Drury has gone about his business at Perry Barr in a professional manner and brought success to the club.

He said: “It took all of 30-seconds to agree everything and I’m highly delighted. At no time did I ever want to leave Birmingham.” Drury was also keen to sing the praises of outgoing owner Tony Mole, who will focus on winning the battle for permanent planning permission at Perry Barr.

“Without Tony Mole there would be no Birmingham Speedway, it’s really as simple as that,” said Drury.
