Birmingham Speedway: Graham Drury wants double victory over Swindon

GRAHAM Drury wants to see his Birmingham side gain valuable league points from both their meetings with Swindon over the next two nights.

The Brummies boss says the riders are raring to go after last week’s home win over Lakeside and they head to Wiltshire on Elite League business tonight with the return at Perry Barr tomorrow.

Talented young Australian Dakota North has been booked to cover for the injured Claus Vissing and James Wright gets the nod over Kevin Wolbert in the reserve berth for both meetings.

“Swindon have had a nightmare start to the season with injuries and unavailability of riders and we have to look to capitalise,’’ said Drury.

“Even now they have signed a couple of riders but they are still a man down because Simon Stead is injured so we have to go there looking for something from the meeting.

“I have booked James Wright for both meetings because he is a former Swindon rider and hopefully he can get some points down there. He could be a key man for us at reserve.

“And Dakota North is a young man I rate very highly so I am pleased to have him on board for the trip to Swindon.

‘‘In the return at Perry Barr we welcome Adam Roynon, who is scoring well for Dudley, back into the team as a guest.

“So I feel we have riders down at reserve who are capable of scoring plenty of points for us and that can sway meetings in our favour.

“It was a very important win for us against Lakeside last week but then we went to Coventry on Friday and were well beaten.

“But all the riders are keen and ready to go for these two meetings against Swindon and I’d like to think we could pick up four points from them but it will be tough.

“It will be a cracking meeting at Perry Barr tomorrow, I believe it wil be the first time we have seen Scott Nicholls at Birmingham so it should be a good night.”

SWINDON: Scott Nicholls, Jesper B Monberg, Nicolai Klindt, Maciek Janowski, Simon Stead R/R, Josh Grajczonek, Justin Sedgmen.

BIRMINGHAM: Krzysztof Kasprzak, Ales Dryml, Ben Barker, Danny King, Daniel Nermark, Dakota North, James Wright.
