Mike Tyson to appear in Birmingham

MIKE Tyson has been signed up to appear at the Birmingham ICC for an after-dinner performance on May 27.

The heavyweight coup has been achieved by boxing promoter and entrepreneur Ken Purchase.

He told me: "It is going to be a fantastic party atmosphere and Mike Tyson will be at the centre of it all.

"The main attraction will be Mike, who will conduct a question and answer session as well as go through his many memoirs.

"And, of course, for the purist he has a fantastic knowledge of the sport which has brought him so much fame.

"I am delighted to have pulled off such a major attraction to take place at a great venue.

"I think that people now know that I always put on a good show and this one will be a heavyweight spectacular."
