Pele fight is stopped in the second round

BIRMINGHAM'S Pele Reid was stopped in the second round by John McDermott for the English title at Bethnal Green.

Reid was the underdog in the final eliminator for the British title.

McDermott had too much class and power and referee Terry O'Connor stepped in to stop the bout midway through the second session.
