MIDLANDS hopes of success in last night’s super middleweight Prize Fighter competition were slammed in the quarter-finals at the York Hall, Bethnal Green.
Birmingham’s Eddie McIntosh was favourite to beat Patrick Cadman but was beaten on points after three very tough rounds.
Cadman started at a furious pace which McIntosh found hard to handle. But the Brummie battled back and it might have been a lot closer had he not gone down for a mandatory count in the third.
Earlier Dudley’s Sam Horton was stopped after one minute 32 seconds of the first round against fast and accurate Patrick ‘The Tiger’ Mendy.
