Table Tennis - with Bob Brown

KINGSHURST Bribar took a huge step towards retaining the Birmingham Premier Division title, with a comfortable 7-3 victory over arch-rivals Curdworth.

Warwickshire champion Michael Browne was outstanding for Kings and included a crucial win over Ian Ferguson in an unbeaten display.

Browne was well supported by Steve Bertie and Scott Prime.

Helen Turner and Alasdair Broadbent have virtually assured Kingshurst Bribar 'C' of staying in the top flight, with the duo both gaining maximums against Hall Green 'A', in a 7-3 success.

Colebridge Aces beat Broadway 6-4, despite the visitors including Carl Morgan and Steve Robinson.

Morgan picked up his usual maximum, but was taken the distance by newcomer Muhammed Khalid.

Sutton 'B' are still going strong in Division One, with maximums from Nabil Khalfey and Martin Round, in the 9-1 demolition of Colebridge Eagles.

Eagles suffered another heavy defeat at Bournville 'A', going down 8-2, as Bhavesh Amlani picked up another treble.

Roger Morris recorded a superb treble for Kingshurst Bribar 'D', as they had a shock 6-4 win over promotion hopefuls Sutton 'A'.

Sutton appear to be feeling the heat, as they could only draw 5-5 with improving Jacombs 'A'.

Brian Morris was in top form for Colebridge Giants, notching a hat-trick in the 7-3 defeat of Sandwell Unison.
