Top draw for smash Jordanne Whiley
BIRMINGHAM teenager Jordanne Whiley has been handed a kind draw as she prepares to make her Paralympic debut in Beijing.
The 16-year old – ranked fourth in the world junior listings – will play France’s Arlette Racineux in the first round of the wheelchair tennis.
Racineux might be more than 30 years older but Whiley won their only previous encounter at this year’s Florida Open.
“It could have been a lot worse and I am quite happy with the draw,” said the British No.2. “I came here with no expectations about how far I would get and will take each match at a time.”
