‘Brat’ Berbatov is still a class act
I SAID a long time ago that Dimitar Berbatov could be as influential as Eric Cantona was at Manchester United.
He is going to be a tremendous player for United. He has that laidback sort of thing very similar to Eric where not too much worries him, the seagulls and all that sort of thing.
Berbatov has the same temperament, he does not let things get to him. You can see it on the pitch as well. Sometimes at Spurs he looked disinterested in games but that will give him the impetus at United to play each match as well as he can because he knows he is at one of the best teams in the world. No disrespect to Tottenham but he is now on stage No.1 and that will suit his temperament.
That is what he has always wanted. There might have been one or two rumblings about him going to Man City but he always wanted to go to Man United because his character lends itself to being on that sort of stage with one of the biggest, if not the biggest, teams in the world,
Much as I think he was a brat for the way he did it by leaving Tottenham, I can’t wait to see the likes of Ronaldo, Nani and Rooney linking up with him. He will set up so many goals and hopefully score goals as well – he is a class act.
It is very exciting and then there is the Robinho thing as well. I am sure he can adapt to the Premiership.
Sometimes you might get a defender who can put in a few tasty tackles – and you wonder if he will give it his all.
I am hoping Robinho shows us the good side.
