Tim Cahill ready to lead Everton's FA Cup charge
Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is relishing Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough.
The Australian, part of the Millwall side which reached the final against Manchester United in 2004, would love a repeat - and Gareth Southgate's Barclays Premier League strugglers stand between the Toffees and the semi-finals.
He said: "I'm excited about Sunday. It's a big opportunity for the football club and the players. We get a chance to see what level we can lift our bodies to."
Meanwhile, Everton striker Victor Anichebe has been ruled out for the remainder of the season by his manager David Moyes.
The youngster has not played since being pole-axed by Newcastle's Kevin Nolan during the match at St James' Park on February 22.
Anichebe sought specialist advice in London on Wednesday. But a scan on the damaged cartilage in his right knee proved inconclusive, so he will now undergo exploratory surgery.
"He's damaged his cartilage and is out for the season," Moyes told www.evertonfc.com.
"It's a blow for the boy, because he'd just got back into the team, and it's another player we have lost."
