Money promises to play fair

Richard Money

RICHARD Money has outlined two reasons why already-promoted Walsall will not be easing off in the last three games of the season.

First and foremost, the Saddlers want to win the League Two title, which means they have to reel in Hartlepool's two-point advantage.

But also, in the next two games, the Saddlers face relegation-threatened pair Bury and Wrexham.

And Money maintains it would not be fair on the other sides battling against the drop if Walsall applied themselves anything less than totally.

"In terms of the team I pick, I might just look at one or two players in relation to decisions I will have to make for next year," the manager said.

"But I am very mindful of two things. Firstly, we want to win the title, and secondly we have a duty to all the teams at the bottom to make sure we do everything we can to win the next two games.

"We'll take it game by game. Hartlepool play on Friday night and that result may affect my thinking for Saturday."

Anthony Gerrard and Craig Pead, who both went off injured at Notts County last weekend, will be available against Bury on Saturday.

Money must evaluate whether to give the likes of Ishmel Demontagnac, Mark Bradley and Troy Deeney a start in the next two games. He is unlikely to deviate from his strongest team on the last day at Swindon if Walsall are still in the race for the title.
