Saddlers to push on for title

Richard Money

SIX points from their last two games could well be enough to secure Walsall the League Two title, Richard Money asserted today.

With two fixtures remaining, the Saddlers are locked in a head-to-head race with Hartlepool to finish top of the table.

Hartlepool lead by three points after Money's side squandered a chance to move top when they lost at home to Bury last Saturday.

But the leaders' two remaining games are both tough. On Saturday they face Rochdale, whose form in the second half of the season suggests they will be the team to watch next time round.

Then 'Pool finish at home to a Bristol Rovers side bang in form and still in the play-offs race.

Money is adamant the title is still there as a major incentive as Walsall prepare to finish at home to Wrexham on Saturday and then away to Swindon.

"Hartlepool go to Rochdale, which will be very tough, and then play Bristol Rovers, which will be even tougher," the manager said.

"If we win our last two games I think we will have every chance of winning the title," he said.

"We certainly want to go to Swindon a week on Saturday still in the equation."

Meanwhile, Walsall have announced price increases for both match admission and season-tickets next season.

Season-ticket increases, the first in three years, average out to about £25. Ground admission prices also go up - full details are on the club website.
