Sonner's back at the Bescot

Danny Sonner in action during his first spell at Walsall

WALSALL have signed experienced midfielder Danny Sonner on a one-year contract.

The former Blues player, who has had one previous spell with the Saddlers, is seen as a midfield linchpin to replace the departed Dean Keates.

Walsall manager Richard Money said: "Signing Danny is a big step in our recruitment.

"He has just had probably the best season of his career at Port Vale and will bring a lot of experience to the team."

The Saddlers also announced today that goalkeeper Clayton Ince has agreed to sign a new two-year contract while defender Ian Roper has signed on for one more season.

Reserve goalkeeper Bertrand Bossu has also re-signed for another year.
