Worcester City 0 Walsall 0

WALSALL drew 0-0 at Worcester City yesterday as they opened their pre-season friendly schedule in low-key fashion.

In a match which was more training session than contest, the Saddlers fielded different teams in each half, other than goalkeeper Bertrand Bossu who played the whole game.

Walsall manager Richard Money took the opportunity to have a look at three trialists in a match situation.

Midfielders Edrisso Sonko and Marco Pedro got a chance to impress while striker Junior (not the namesake who played for Walsall under Colin Lee) played half the game up front alongside summer signing Tommy Mooney.

Before the match a minute's silence was held for former Saddlers midfielder Davd Preece, who has sadly died, aged just 44.

Walsall's friendlies continue at Stafford Rangers tomorrow and Halesowen on Wednesday. Their team for both matches will consist of a mixture of first-teamers and younger players.
