Saddlers boss set to turn to young guns

Richard Money

WALSALL manager Richard Money suggested "big changes" lie ahead after a 3-0 home defeat to Oldham dumped his team back on the bottom of League One.

The Saddlers endured a day to forget as they were swept away by a Latics side who started the day at the foot of the division.

And with a tough visit to Hartlepool looming on Saturday, Money is highly tempted to turn to some of the younger players who have been shining for the reserves this season.

"That was very disappointing," the manager said. "We never really got started. Now we will see who's up for it won't we? That's what I said to the players after the game.

"We lifted ourselves with a good result at Millwall and now we have gone and disappointed everybody, most of all ourselves, with a very poor performance.

"Now we will find out who's up for the fight and it looks as though there will have to be some big changes. Maybe it's time to see where some of the younger players are in their development."
