Butler placed on the transfer list

MARTIN Butler has been placed on the transfer-list at Walsall.
The experienced striker was dropped for last Saturday's visit to Hartlepool and is unlikely to figure again, having fallen out of favour and into dispute with the club.
"Talks have been held with Martin Butler regarding his future at Walsall," a club statement revealed last night.
"A transfer bid from Peterborough United was received and accepted during the August transfer window but the striker failed to agree personal terms.
"At the present time the club is not prepared to commit itself to offering the player an extension to his contract, which expires in June 2008.
"With that in mind, both parties have agreed that the player should be made available for transfer."
