Money delighted by classy Walsall display

Richard Money

RICHARD Money was immensely proud after his Walsall side played Doncaster off the park in the second half.

"We had a little huddle at the end because I was a bit emotional," the manager said.

"I have been in the game a long time and I can't remember being more proud of a group of players in my life.

"I think that was the best 45 minutes since I have been here. We said at half-time that although we were 2-1 down it was a great game and one we could win. We hadn't done too much wrong.

"Then in the second half we have come out and played outstandingly for 30 minutes.

"We had about 10 shots in 10 minutes and deserved the bit of luck when they missed their penalty.

"That's three away wins in a row and nine points from four games - a good run. To do it from a situation where we had only got two points from the first few games is very commendable.

"There was some great running from the middle of the pitch from Dwayne Mattis and Mark Bradley."

The only negative on a terrific night for Walsall was a hamstring injury collected late on that will probably sideline Darren Wrack for several weeks.
