Money warns of Luton test for Walsall

WALSALL manager Richard Money reckons Luton will pose more problems tomorrow than their dreadful away record suggests.

Luton will arrive at the Banks's Stadium having lost six out of seven away games this season.

But with a squad packed with experience, including former Blues pair Paul Furlong and Paul Peschisolido, they pack a threat, insists Money.

"Luton have a very experienced and expensive squad and they will be around the promotion positions when the season finishes," the Saddlers manager said. "You have to think they will move up the league soon - we just have to make sure it doesn't start tomorrow.

"We are quite confident at the minute, playing well and in good form, but we know that can change very quickly.

"If anything, we have got to raise our levels tomorrow becacuse we are playing a team that has just come out of the Championship and strengthened with former Premiership footballers."

Money, whose Saddlers team has lost just one of the last nine games, is plotting the downfall of one of his former clubs.

As a player he was part of the Luton squad which rose to the top flight under David Pleat in the early 1980s.

"I had a fantastic time as a player there," he said. "David was the first person who taught me what coaching was about. He coached - until then I had been at clubs that just trained. There is a big difference."
