Walsall's charge up the table leaves Richard Money happy

RICHARD Money hailed Walsall's climb up the League One table as "unbelievable" after they beat promotion contenders Forest.

Bottom of the table just ten weeks ago, Walsall are now outside the play-offs zone only on goal difference.

And the manager paid fulsome tribute to his players.

"If you ask clubs like Forest what their budget is you will get some idea of just how far we are punching above our weight," Money said. "It's unbelievable. It is a benchmark to play against Forest, who have the best players in this division, and beat them.

"We played against a team that is going to finish first or second in this division and deservedly picked up three points.

"That has to give our players confidence. But we won't get carried away. They are a real solid group of people and a pleasure to work with."

Money is clearly deeply proud of a team which has been defeated just once since September 22.

"I look at other people's squads and I know what their budgets are and we have no right to be anywhere near the top of the table.

"But we have got a group of young players who are developing, working their socks off and believe in one another. Sometimes that can take you a long way."
